Hey! I'm Bhushan
I draw on my cognitive science background to fully understand people and their stories, so I can create meaningful experiences that people like to use.
My Journey

Learning about Human-Centered Design
I came to UC Berkeley with an interest in graphic design, and took a class on human-centered design where I worked on a solo project that taught me how to frame a design problem and create my own solution. Being a freshman on campus with back to back classes and no time for lunch, I thought of a mobile app for a campus-wide system of vending machines. I enjoyed the process of solving a problem while incorporating my design skills — to continue exploring this field, I joined Berkeley Innovation, a human-centered design consultancy, where I expanded my understanding of design and collaborated with some amazingly talented people.

My design approach
What I love about product design is how most design problems can be traced back to people. It's not just about design, but thinking about behavior at a deeper level, something I got to dive into with my Cognitive Science degree. To create a useful, intuitive experience, I like to think about how people process an experience. As a product designer, I enjoy being a lifelong learner, a mindset I actively adopt from user research to iterating in a design project.

When I'm not designing...
I've grown up in California for most of my life, so I love being outside whether it's to play some pickup basketball or just walk around on a nice day! I've been learning how to surf over the past year, which has been one of the most fun but hardest things I've done. When I'm not outside, I'm playing chess, mixing music, or just binging some TV show.
